Look of the Week: Sienna in Balenciaga

Now, you all are probably aware of how obsessed I am with Sienna Miller. But I felt obligated to post a picture of what could very possibly be her best fashion moment-- this Balenciaga dress based and created after a design from the Cristobal Balenciaga archives. The whole look is amazing, the gold, the cut, the black tights. This girl can NEVER go wrong!

The Khak(i) is Back

I have always loved khaki... I wore khaki overalls in elementary school almost every day. And I can't wait to get back in the groove, because khaki is definitely back in time for summer. Layer khaki with light fabrics and pastel colors, and you could even add metallic touches (another HUGE trend!) Khaki might be beige, but it's anything but boring.

Costume Institute Gala 2007

It's kno
wn as the Oscars of Fashion. The annual Costume Institute Gala is the most decadent, fabulous celebration of fashion known to Earth. This year, it was themed in spirit of Paul Poiret, the "King of Fashion." And, not surprisingly, everyone showed up looking amazing in twentieth-century couture, inspired and impacted by the famous designs of Paul Poiret. Hosted by Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquiere, Cate Blanchett, and Vogue's Anna Wintour, the night was sure to be ground-breaking.
Amber Valletta, Stella McCartney and Scarlett Johansson, all in designs by Stella.

Miu Miu Pre-Fall Season Shoes

I am in love with Miu Miu's pre-fall season shoes. They might be a little over one's budget, but they're amazing. I love these Lamé Shine Flats, satin with crystals on vamp. $450 (bottom left). And I love these red Vernice Pumps, patent leather with peep toe $395 (top right).
I would just like to share to the world that I went to TJ Maxx on Sunday and bought the two cutest mini sun dresses! Seriously, I'm pretty broke at the moment, but these dresses were $15 each. You might need to search the store a little, but once you start looking you won't be able to stop, I promise!

I advise you: go to your local TJ Maxx and you'll be very thankful.

High Waisted, High Fashion

I feel compelled to write about the new trend that's getting mixed reviews. Personally, I love it. Sported by the likes of Mischa Barton and Jessica Simpson, high-waisted jeans have been everywhere lately. From the runway to Rodeo Drive, they've made their mark on fashion's most daring trend-setters. But take caution, curvy ladies: if you have a tummy or a booty, these might not be too flattering. But hey, they're still adorable. You can work the street style like Scarlett Johansson on the left, or the runway style shown on the right.
