I have developed a new fetish for cocktail dresses. More specifically, crisp black and white cocktail dresses. They're so classic and beautiful, and they're everywhere on saksfifthavenue.com so i decided to post about them. There are no silver, cream or gray dresses in this post, just black and white. No compromises. And just a heads up, take my advice and go out and get one. They're extremely versatile, and maybe even worth a few extra bucks!

I am really having Fendi fever lately! Such clean lines, and almost futuristic-looking. Oh, and completely following the spring metallic trend. Adorable shoes, dresses AND handbags. Ah, perfect! Look on shopvogue.com for more Fendi.

Cristobal Balenciaga Mastered a Design Era

A born fashion designer, Cristobal Balenciaga was born in Spain in 1895, and obtained his first client at age 13. Balenciaga then made his way to Madrid for formal training. Shortly after that in 1919, Balenciaga had his own couture salons in Barcelona and Madrid. The Spanish Civil War forced him to flee to Paris, where he showed off some of fashion's most influential designs: the cocoon coat, the chemise and the baby-doll dress. Balenciaga closed his empire in 1968. Fortunately, his legacy lived on in some of his assistants. This season, the house has been reinvigorated by Nicolas Ghesquiere, who is reliving the most memorable, rigorous cuts that Balenciaga first became famous for. Boy, am I happy that Balenciaga is back in the fashion spotlight.

Look of the Week: Kate in Chanel

I think I've fallen in love: Kate Hudson has never looked cuter in this chain-laden Chanel dress. I love the bows, and she looks so sophisticated yet so fun at the same time. I want it! Bad! And even though Rachel Bilson wore the same dress in January, I still think Kate looks cuter in it (shhh...). Oh, and the all black from the waist down with the tights and the pumps gives it a sweet touch... love it!

Jewel Tone Jubilance

This is exactly what I felt when I discovered that one of the most stylish spring trends are jewel tones. With deep blues, greens, reds and purples, this trend is bound to be timeless. This look completely tops off spring's royal look this year. Yes, designers are pumpin' jewel tones out, but you can find jewel tones anywhere. These two Jewel Tone dresses are both from Forever 21, and unbelievably both under 34 bucks. Go get 'em ladies.

Many Many Minidresses

The verdict is in: every girl needs a minidress. And once you get one, you'll find yourself becoming a minidress addict. Join the club.

The Tricks of the Trend:
1) Don't make it skanky. Make it sassy. There's a difference!
2) Wear them during the day, wear them at night, wear them whenever. It works.
3) There are no rules. Now go shop! (I recommend saksfifthavenue.com. It's where I found all of these!)

The New Skinny Jeans... Hm...

Now, I'm all for skinny jeans. I mean, I wear them everyday, I probably own more skinny jeans than underwear. I love Nicole Richie in them (right), and she inspired me the most to try something new. So when I heard that wide legged jeans were the new skinnies, I was a bit apprehensive. I mean, I've seen wide legged jeans on the runway and on celebrities, and don't get me wrong, they look fabulous. But, I'm a little frightened to try them. I have my daily routine already set; shirt, ballet flats, skinny jeans, and sometimes if I'm feeling wild, I'll throw in a headband. Why change now? Or maybe this is just my excuse, to cover my fear of failing--that is, looking bad in the latest trend. Can I possibly build up the confidence, courage and ambition to try this new look? Because, the truth is, you NEED to be confident courageous and ambitious to pull off these wideys!

And the Fashionista Award Goes to...

Sienna Miller. She's gorgeous, original, and dated Jude Law. But most importantly, she's stylish. But that's an understatement-- she embodies and embraces everything that the bohemian chic style is all about. Kudos Sienna, to absolutely changing modern fashion--and being the butt of my envy. (Come on, Jude's not a bad looking man.)

The dress is gorgeous, and I love the hair. Bottom Left: There were so many imitations of this look, but Sienna can truly pull it off. The gold sparkly top with the tights is adorable.



Those are my three favorite red carpet looks of Sienna Miller, but I'm sure there are many, many more to come.
